Go in with an intention.
Say why you’re opening the app and how long you’ll stay. Antirot opens it for you.
Screentime manager and archive for iPhone
Set an intention before you scroll. Everything you save, from every app, lands in one archive with your notes.
Your intention sits at the top of the screen the whole time.
Let’s say...
You opened TikTok to find that pasta recipe. Forty minutes later you know a surprising amount about restoring cast iron pans, and the recipe is nowhere.
The apps are built to do this to you. Antirot gives you a way to walk in with a reason, have an easier way out, and save what you want to in a place with fewer attention traps.
How a session works
Say why you’re opening the app and how long you’ll stay. Antirot opens it for you.
The countdown and your intention live in the Dynamic Island. Add five minutes or end the session with one tap.
Close out with your saves in a row and a note if you want one. Wander off and the session closes itself.
The archive
Sessions are titled by what you went in for. Open one and you see the posts, videos, and screenshots you saved, with the note you wrote at the time. You never have to open the feed to find them again.
Links, screenshots, and screen recordings all count. Tap Share, pick Antirot, write a line about why it mattered, and it files itself into the session you’re in.
Tag saves as you go, and pull the ones that belong together into a collection. A recipe from TikTok can sit next to a video from YouTube and a pin from Pinterest.
Your accountability buddy
Whenever no session is running, a shield sits over the five apps. Tap through and you land on the intention screen, set your reason and your time, and then you’re in. The habit still works. It just starts with a question now.
If you’d rather skip the shield, put the Antirot widget where the app icon used to be. Same spot, same thumb, and every visit starts with a why.
Privacy
Download it and start. There is nothing to create, confirm, or remember.
Sessions, saves, and notes are stored in a local database on your device. Antirot has no servers holding a copy.
Antirot uses Apple’s Screen Time framework to shield apps. Apple built it so an app like Antirot never sees what you watch or who you follow.
A note from the maker
I make things for a living, and social media is where the people who might care about them spend their time. Quitting social media was never realistic. What I wanted was a way to go in with a reason and come out with what I needed—consolidated, organized and accessible in one place, and without the continued attention trap. Antirot is that, built for myself first, and then made ready for you.
Questions
Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Facebook. But truthfully, you can save photos, videos or links from anywhere across the internet, with notes, and they are still tag-gable. The only difference is those aren’t part of a ‘session’ with an intention and time limit like the supported platforms.
Any iPhone on iOS 18 or later. The Dynamic Island features need a phone that has one.
The shield comes back and the session moves to its close out. If you need longer, add five minutes from the Dynamic Island or the app. Extending is always your call.
Always. Antirot never locks you out. It asks for a reason and a length, then opens the door. This is more of mindful scrolling tool than one that enforces abstinence. It just asks you to be mindful about why and for how long you scroll.
Free trial then $3.99 /month OR you can buy Antirot Lifetime for $49.99.
Me and everyone else are so sick of subscriptions. So try it for low cost, and then keep your archive forever.
Antirot stores the preview image and your note on your phone, so the memory of it stays even if the link goes dead. Screenshots and screen recordings are yours outright.
Antirot is in beta for iPhone. Get an invite and be among the first to try it.
